How are your hands now ? Are you better ? Any issues ?
Hey Sooperdooper, would you be able to elaborate a bit on the surgery itself. Is it a simple outpatient procedure, how long till you can use your hand again, etc...
I have been having tingling/numbing problems with my right hand & find I have to shake it out every 10 minutes or so when riding...becoming a real pain in the ass & is also affecting my dirt biking too.

Were the docs able to diagnose how you ended up with carpal tunnel in the first place? I'm just trying to get as much info on it as possible. Have googled a bunch of research, but always better to hear from someone who actually has/had it.

Hope to hear back from you, cheers

Rob
Dang Super Dooper, did a Duke do that to you or did you miss too many hood payments? Crypits Hey Rob, one of my biking buddys had the carpal tunnel job. The way he got it was cutting fire wood with chain saws to support his early days of motorcycle racing flat track and motocross. Then he got a real job as a lathe operator. More action on the wrist. I will chat with him to give you a heads up ASAP....but I got some vacation coming up....
When I was doing physical therapy for my hand after my crash there were quit a few people in there that had carpel tunnel surgery. their PT was worse than mine. They would come in unable to move their wrist and would be in quit a bit of pain when they got worked on. Good Luck.
Thanks doug & oafboy for your responses....the pt part doesn't sound fun, but from what I hear about pt it is a pain, but is well worth it in the long run to proper recovery.
The orthoscopic surgery option sounds better to me that the open surgery....plus the recovery time seems to be a lot quicker from all the reviews. I guess if I do get it done I'll want to wait until winter....that way I can still get in my riding over the summer & fall

cheers Rob
My mrs has just been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel, I don't think serious enough for surgery yet but they're going to try some other stuff, like wearing wrist guards to bed or steroid injections
