The original screamer 500, the animal was 1988-89, Casey Stoner was 4 years old then

Got any pics
Jeez, you lot are a bit rough on poor old Casey.

He's got a lot of teeth and is a bit whiney when things go wrong, but aren't they all .... and Adriana puts up with him and still smiles.

He makes me nervous just watching him in qualifying. He's definitely got big ones and was definitely the only reason Ducati won a world title !!

If it wasn't for Stoner and Super Sic Curly Simoncelli, MotoGP would be pretty dull at the moment.
How come it's always you Aussies coming to his defense?
Stoner can only dream of having the balls, style and charisma of Simoncelli

Anyway isn`t the `Poison Dwarf` livimg in the UK now with mummy and daddy?
Why the nationalistic support for someone who has clearly deserted his home country, that i really cant understand

For what I feel is the best motorcycle forum I've been on, I would prefer that the narrow mindedness of a few not taint the enjoyment that we all get from this great forum.

I am sure they are in the minority as you find in most clubs etc.
For these people, sledging and irrational degrading comments without logic or substance is their way of forcing their opinions on others. ( ie. Bullying)
This is their way of compensating for their small dicks, and social insecurity.

As such, I will refrain from further comment in this particular thread, if only to preserve the minimal self respect and small mindedness of those who choose to force their opinions publicly with such little regard for rational debate, fact and impartiality.

Have a nice day.
you yanks are just fucken jealous, your last world champion couldn't win ANYWHERE but laguna, and the one before him couldn't win a chook raffle but amazingly won a world championship, god knows how???
and the poms? your last world champion was who? oh yeah, barry sheene? 1978 was it? get over yourselves and stop being brainwashed by shit stirring journos who don't like riders with a real opinion. if you want to talk about no personality how about the dani pedrosa robot and as for sooks i think there's a line up to the left.
Stoner can ride, no argument from anyone as for style? have you guys actually seen him rear wheel steer those things? they all have traction control and they all have similar equipment, what i really love is how stupid rossi looks after sledging stoner all last year, he won on the ducati, rossi is 16th on the grid tonight, that's second last! i guess you need a little more than just "flair and personality" to actually win hey!

juss sayin
"Blind nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind"
Albert Einstein

Just sayin, I maybe British but I am one of Mick Doohans biggest fans, I can true appreciate true talent no matter where it comes from

fook, but aint David Beckham an embarrassment to the entire human race
nobody can deny stoners talent, he was great to watch on the ducati, he has serious talent... but, he does come across like a spoilt little brat, and people dont like that... he has yet to prove his legend status compared to rossi (9 wc's)...
i don't think anyone could seriously call stoner a legend..........yet. will he be? who knows, agostini, hailwood, surtees, lawson, rainey, doohan, rossi, all easily of legend status but i remember criticism of doohan and lawson for being too serious, dedicated, no flair. doohan won 5 lawson won 4 and i bet they offer no apologies for their single mindedness and determination and nor should they, they competed to win, not make friends.
Quite right, blind nationalism is indeed a primitive, tribal emotion but it certainly sells a lot tickets to sporting events and Crikey I hope you're just takin the piss Aussieduke.

I don't think yesterdays race is gonna earn Stoner any legend points either ....... but at least he didn't whine about coming third !!!

Personally, I'd like to see Curly win a race.

Stoner to Rossi "Obviously your ambition outweighs your talent.". That just about says it all. He's 25 years old now and has been racing in GP for 5 years already. Comment's like that and weird sideline antics is why people call him a whiney spoiled brat.

I do like how Lorenzo pronounces "focus".

I actually think Stoner is a genius!!!! I also think he was right to say to rossi about the ambition and talent cos thats what happened,
They're all whiney bastards in their own way at one time or another

I also cant wait for curly to win a race , he's great to watch

everyone has a right to express their opinion,

but, if a guy came up the inside of you on a wet track, on a slower bike with front end grip problems when you are leading him by a shit load of points you would have to be either stupid, arrogant or both not to get out of the fooking way

me i would have just let him through and if he didnt crash out passed him later on my much superior bike
Whiney little prick is boycotting Japan now because the Montegi circuit is 100km from Fukashima.
Currant radiation levels although slightly elevated from the norm but are below the safe limit and lower than other cities around the world.

You know despite a few little off the rail comments it's good to see everyone so passionate about about their bike racing. These guys are all heros and they all put their life on the line everytime they race whether they come first or last.

I watch World Superbikes, World Speedway, AMA Motocross, MotoGP etc. and I'm happy to see Gollob, Hancock, Villipoto, Checa Biaggi and others putting in their all. I couldn't care where they come from. Sometimes I'm cheering for Checa and sometimes I want Biaggi to win cause on the day I reckon he deserved it.

Blind nationalism is definately so 20th century but we all like to see home grown talent doing well and all pick our own favourites for whatever reasons but lets not forget that we are talking motorcycle racing here and not stoop to discussing ball games !!!

So Stoner doesn't want to go to Japan eh ...... the whiney little prick

Righto back into it then ..............
It's the lack of professionalism that Stoner exhibits that turns fans away from him. He kicked Karel Abaraham during a test session because he thought Karel was trying to draft off him and steal his lines. Karel probably was trying to get a tow, but if Stoner was so much faster it wouldn't matter. A true world champion should have some respect for his fellow racers no matter how bad they suck. When Rossi took him out, he sat on the side lines flipping of the marshals for not pushing his stalled out bike, and then waited a lap to mock cheer Rossi as he passed by. It's like ok, you're angry, we got the message. But, then to low blow Rossi with a cheap comment as he is trying to apologize really showed his true character. Maybe he was trying to be funny ironic, but it just didn't work and came off as bratty. Hopefully, he matures a bit more and shows some cool in the future, otherwise that attitude will affect his racing in the long run.
Yes you're right Stoner doesn't handle his mouth very well sometimes.

As far as slower guys drafting the fast guys it always seems to cause a bit of angst. Biaggi was accused of jacking up in corners to baulk others during qualifying and I agree they should probably just get over it but hey it's high stakes and they're the ones gambling.

As far as the Vale/Stoner crash, well they have a bit of history and given what Vale supposedly said in the media about Stoner and his time on the Ducati I expect Stoner was just waiting for the opportunity to get one back. He could have been a bit wittier though, like "getting to grip with that front end yet Valentino" or "what's up did you think I was Sete Gibernau" etc....... and with respect to the marshals, well it was pretty clear Valentino got a lot more help to get going than Stoner.

He does need to work on his sense of humor and lighten up a bit though.

He should have t-boned Lorenzo like Vale did to Gibers on that last corner at Sachenring to
I don't care that Stoner is an Aussie.
What i don't like is needless self promotion and being a cock ala Jorge.... And Valentino.
Both Awesome riders... Both cocks, who cares?
It's fun to watch on the track but as soon as the racing ends, I lose interest.
Give me more push and shove on the track and less mouth in the pits

You really will get some Bites on that one from down under when they wake up
sorry dutch i disagree , you dont see large flocks of barry sheene groupies anymore , just like with the passing of time , you wont see the rossi fairies anymore life goes on fella,

i could watch that vid over and over and nothing but admiration comes to my mind for that skill , some big jessies mentioned traction control and blah this and blah that , it would be nice to see them post their utube track vids up for a critique..........twats
And life goes on!!!!!

MotoGP will never be the same as the Schwanz/Rainey/Doohan years, it will never be as exciting due to health and safety and unfortunatly other bullshit!!!!!!!

Say what you want about Stoner but its riders like him, Simmo and De Puniet who make the current racing exciting!

Who gives a fook who winges and whines! Do i like racers - no, i like motorcycle racing!!!! (read Vales autobiography, he too moans, winges and whines but he also nos EXACTLY when to turn it on for the cameras/media)

So stop getting hung up on what the riders are up to and enjoy the racing - and fook MotoGP, last weekend proved that 125s and Moto2 is the home of exciting motorcycle racers who dont give a shit about health and safety, bashing fairings and taking risks (and thats what i LOVE about motorcycle racing)
+1 to that Ash. I watched the Moto2 racing as well, great racing.

I really don't care so much about the riders personality,I don't think I'll ever get to have a cold one with any of them. I watch the racing for the riding because their skill amazes me and I love seeing them react to every twitch and slide . I hear people moaning about how boring MotoGP is now because there's not enough passing, but I would still watch just one of those guys go round the track by himself. Does anyone think the IOM TT is boring ?

But in saying that I still get a laugh from interveiws with riders like Edwards and Rossi, but as in normal life, not all of us can have sparkling personalities and top level racing is a very serious game.
Anyone who's ever done a bit of club racing or just track days knows what sort of space your head has to be in to do it well.
So I can understand Stoners comments to Rossi straight after the race because he would have been still so amped up.
The next day he would've just woken up ,took a breath and got on with it.

Just my humble opinion, Jace

travel to Japan quite a lot myself , mainly to utsonomia , I wouldn't go north though , fook that!!!!
I don't like em that much to risk my own health , I work with the Car companies out there and from my experience us westerners just aint that smart in their opinion , hence japanese large companies always have a japanese big cheese even though they know nowt about our culture.
I am surprised you have such a sense of commitment to them , good for you , you must have found some that are different to the ones i deal with
On the whole they're nice people , but i couldn't eat a full un

Agree with most of comments made about Stoner on both sides, we all have our opinions. Personally, this is where I lost respect for him as a fan. 0:25

This is a clip of that race and the dancing involved... fook those bikes move about under brakes and on the gas
I remember the #46 teddy being thrown well and truely in the corner at Istanbul a few years ago.
The moves Toni put on Rossi that day were nowhere near as harsh as those at Laguna but Rossi didn't like being on the receiving end.

Some people have short memories.
First Stoner now bloody Cadel Evans is on the telly bawling his eyes out ..........dont make em tough like Doohan any more.
Aussies should be banned on anything with two wheels thats televised.
Yep......the Phrase ' Whinging Pom' which I have to say was very apt......seems to have switched Hemispheres
Awesome pass to win the race tonight.

Go whinger!
If Valentino manages to finish one more race he might just make triple figures! God that Ducati is awesome, no wonder it won a championship!
30 seconds behind Casey, that's over a 3rd of a lap there.
Still a lot of work to be done in the red garage.

Jorge has to be fairly pleased though, his highside yesterday at the end of practice was huge - to finish 2nd today was a result.

It was,is my opinion that there was not one rider in the race that did not give alll that was available to them that day. Most impressive was Stoner's resolve to push when pushing was not really needed. He has a trust on the paint that few had and he would still slide much more on it but new that in most cases it was still the fastest way around the track. I will say that it would have been nice if Nicky would have shown Rossi a wheel at least once.
Cal stuggled most the weekend and I am now resolved to say that maybe Rea or Lafferty may have been better suited.
My wife and I got to see a supermodel walking in the paddock. She had legs that went all tge way up to her beautiful smile. While getting closer and closer to us we both realised that it was Casey and Andrea and it was right there and then that I felt he may be the luckiest man in the world.
She's so pretty, I think my wife wanted to kiss her.

Stoner's ability to break JL during the last few laps there was nothing short of awesome IMO. Not too mention the pass round the outside on JL: that was fantastic!

Mr Pies must be gutted: he had the pace for at least 3rd but got stuck behind Rossi for too long. Still he made up over 5seconds on Dovi to snatch 4th; an excellent ride.

Dani's excuse for dropping off was that he didn't have enough strength in his left arm. Does anyone else think that Dani is massively talented but too fragile to be a world champion?
