CCTV - London Fundraising for Christmas

Watch out chaps. Camden are raising funds for their Christmas bash by targeting bikes which are passing cars by going the wrong side of any keep left signs. it is a £60 fine if you pay in 14 days - £120 if you pay in 28.

Certainly a case of 'guilty as charged' but given the HUGE amount of gridlock they have caused by digging up most of central London, I bet all of you will be caught out (there were 5 of us on the video evidence that caught me) unless you heed my warning...

Better that than if a copper catches you...it's 3 points and £60.

That said those CCTV operators are arseholes, I got done for 'waiting' as I pulled to the kerb to say hello to a mate.

I got done by a copper for going round an island the wrong side about 2 months ago....no points and £30...he said it wasnt the type of offence that had points on it..but maybe the crucial difference is teh keep left sign here...

I don't know how you guys can stand it. I would have real anger management issues if I had to deal with that. I've noticed that in some areas with new construction here there are cameras on the lights at intersections. I'm not sure what they are for, but I may have to get good at climbing while holding a hammer.

In the UK the answer to everything is cameras and fooking fines. So next time you're mugged the authorities can say, "yeah sorry, about that, we couldn't afford to employ any beat coppers cos we spent it all on cameras, but we have got some lovely footage of you getting the crap thumped out of you. We can't see who the perps are but if we ever find out, you can be sure we'll give them a fine. ... Oh by the way we've got footage of you running an amber light, so that's 60 quid please."

John, that is bloody ironic isnt it?? Thousands of fugging cameras, not one of the bastards is good enough to actually pick out a persons face in daylight let alone at night.....waste of fooking money imho.

The fear of being watched must surely diminish with the increasing volume of cameras....they cant ALL be manned?!! How do you think it will develop? Do you think there will be a backlash one day and all cameras will go or do you just think it'll keep on increasing??

I know what I want but I'm not confident it'll happen.

A local Gatso got burned about 3 weeks or so ago round my way, last week it was replaced with a new one....

That sucks balls how you guys have it over there, we are spewing because they have just said that the 5-0 is not going to mark up fixed speed cameras with signs anymore and hike up the fines Sounds pretty tame to your raw deal..
