So I'm riding home from work last night. I got off a bit earlier than usual, so that was good.

Anyhow, I was just cruising along, casually filtering through traffic. I came up behind a Harley Electra-Glide CVO. He's moving along at a pretty good clip, so I settled in behind him & flowed. After about 30 seconds of this, he moves over 2 lanes, so I figured he's clearing out of the way to let me by....

We both go by the same car at about the same time, then he decides he wants back over into the fast lane. Where I was. He cut back across the #2 lane, and damn near broadsided me. This ignorant fecker didn't even bother looking before he just jammed over.

I doubt he even knew I was behind him in the 1st place.

Scared the everlovin shit outta me. Mostly because I assume other riders would try to be as aware of their surroundings as I do. He probably had the cruise control set, and was looking for some Jethro Tull tunes on the stereo.

Gotta love Southern California traffic.
Harley rider, says it all!
Obviously never heard of a life saver When i did my training to pass bike test they drummed them into us again and again. Worked too as they have saved my bacon more than once.
When it is another motorcyclist, I tend to think that the bastards just dont give a shit. I actually get madder at them than I would a car cause I put the car drivers in the dip shit category and try to reserve enough space in the cyclist side for people more like me, a dip shit on a bike. I have close encounters of the bi-wheel kind on a few occasions and it did not matter if they were riding a 999 or a FXLTRSRX or a bike with an R at the end they just live in thier own little oblivious world. Glad you had the pressence of mind to make up for aqualung my friend.
I like the way Clincky states "save my bacon", with a pig above him.
Yeah, I hear you. I get it every single day in London traffic. The number of dipshits in cars and on bikes that have tried to kill me using the the brute power of bonehead ignorance is incalculable.
They simply have not the slightest inkling that you're there, so they change lanes in blissful ignorance of the impending doom they're inviting for you and themselves.
Seriously, they're not bad, just 110% fukshit, pig ignorant of anything going on around them.
Stay sharp, it's our only defence.
150 miles today of fast road riding. No problems, no scary moments. Except for the two incidents with cars in London, one on the way out and one on the way back in. Both identical. Both cars on the inside lane pulling over without looking when I'm in the outside lane. Both don't use their mirrors, both don't even seem to be aware of what's going on behind them at all. But I expect this from cars, every one of them. I just give them the horn or some sort of hand gesture to say, "you fooking idiot!!" but they usually are so busy with their phone/sat nav/babies/music system/argument with passenger/make-up/etc that they don't care anyway. It's all part of the game to stay alive I guess.

Watch if you use your horn, Ive done this in the past and it tends to frighten / panic people and their natural instinct is to brake so you could end up rear ending them.
