Corbin seats for SDR

#5I thought the price was a bit too steep so I took the seat to a local car upholsterer.
So far he has added 10mm of foam and a new 'grippier' cover to my standard seat for $90.
I can still feel the firmness through the foam but it is much more bearable and I no longer slide off the seat. On an all day ride it was becoming a poin for the last couple of hours but it was freeway riding to get me home........in sport riding mode it works great.
I might go and get a little more padding put in if I do many more full days...........but I bought the SDR mainly for shortish rides (up to 3 hours) and being a hooligan so I am not after an armchair...........otherwise I would go and get a VFR and some touring leathers.
I would rather spend the money on getting the motobox.
One major imporvement is to get the suspension set up professionally.
I took mine to Shock Treatment and it has made a huge difference. The rear pre-load was way out and I was hitting the bump stop. We dropped the front through the forks and tweaked all the settings and now even the hard seat has become less noticeable as I am not crashing through bumps anymore.
Looking forward to Eastern Creek track day on 26th Jan.

#6you will probably just want to get rid of that solo seat anyways.I will kindly swap my comphy seat from my standard sm,for your uncomfortable sdr seat at no cost to you,no need for a thanks !

#7Purchased the Corbin seat when I first purchased my SDR. I live about an hour away from the shop so I rode down to have one built. The first seat was pitched high in the rear and I dont need to explain what happened when I got on the brakes during a test run. So they cut the seat down some but there is not much to cut down since the tail section of the SD's is very steep. Wasn't very impressed at first but the seat has broken in and its much better then stock but I still use the stock seat for track days.

#8When you take off the plastic guards over the stock mufflers (not needed with the much cooler running titanium Akras) the stock seat is a little wobbly...not much, but a bit. It doesn't bother me...anyway, does the Corbin require the plastic muffler covers to give it rigidity or could it be run without them?
