Ive been contemplating having my bike Gas Flowed to go with the rest of my mods for a while now.
After several messages with tripoddave i finally decided to do something about it,Daves going the whole hogg and having high compression pistons aswell but after talking to the tuners ive just decided on the Gas Flow.
Anyway getting back to the title i contacted 2 well known tuners,both of which have been mentioned on here a few times.
I live near York so theres abit of travelling involved.This didnt really bother me as ive a van and will just take my bike down in that,"ive decided i want a drop off pick up when done jobby".Its just that if i have any problems after picking the bike up i would of prefered to be nearer home incase ive to pop back.
First of all i contacted Hilltop motorcycles in Leicestershire,I spoke to Geoff and had a decent chat explaining everything id already done and what i wanted,he said he'd done plenty of the SDs and the last one he did he had got 148bhp at the back wheel.This was just with a Gas Flow and dyno setup plus the usual airbox and flies mods.Well i didnt know what to say at first and just said wow your dyno must read on the plus side.Anyway that sort of ended my enquiry.
Next up was Bob Farnham in sevenoaks,he of the Battle bikes tune fame.Speaking to him i got the impression straight away of a no bullshit attitude and he explained everything to me.He told me what to expect and with my mods done already a Gas Flow would be fine.
I have booked my bike in and and will leave it with him for a couple of weeks until done.
Both tuners were within £50 of each other but even though ive to travel twice as much i think ive made the right choice.
will let you all know how it goes and post my Dyno maps when done.
