Daytona 2008

Got back from Daytona yesterday, put about 1000 miles on my SD. Bike was fantastic. Installed a cruise control, DNA filter, blacked out my rear sets, rear hangers, subframe. Installed Rizoma black levers. Repaired my scratched clutch cover and blacked out along with ignition cover. I saw two black Superdukes from Arkansas at a red light. Are you in this forum? Went to the superstock and supersport races on Thursday. Had a great time, I love this bike

Well, I know most of you will cringe, but I painted them. I have done this in the past with great success. The key is preparation, and I use appliance paint, a very hard and durable enamel. I did have a spot near the pegs that chipped, but the beauty of black is that a sharpie touched it right up. I was worried about the heat on the clutch and ignition covers so I used high heat paint for grills and stoves. seems to be holding up well. I had planned to remove the swing arm and have powder coated { I would never paint anything like that] but I rather like the look now with the middle parts blacked out. the swingarm is balanced by the bottom of front forks. I do want to black out the engine mounts, but now it's time to ride. One of the great things about bikes is making it your own.

Also, what track stand is that - does it not need spools?

Just a stand I got from Yamaha for my old R6. no spools needed, perfect fit.
