Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and to the 2008 SD I just bought.....but.....the second day I had it, it rained like a MOFO, after the rain, the clock only lit up but they where dead....
so when I got home, I took apart the entire assembly to see what was happening.....the clocks where literally swimming inside.....dried it out, used some alcohol and wd40 to dry it out faster.......then i decided to drill a very small hole, the smallest drill bit I had, at the deepest part of the clock, so if water gets in again, it'll drain out, then used silicone to seal the entire rear part of the electronics on the clocks......more silicone to seal the rim of the clocks when I was putting it back toghether.....silicone on the inside of the bottom boot.....it's sealed allrigth, if i blow on the small hole, no air goes out anywhere.....put it back togheter, and IT LIVES!!!!!
I'm sorry I did not think about taking picks, I'm a newwbie, but it won't happen again, I'll document everyting else from now own
cheers....
