Dropping a tooth on the front sprocket....

I understand this is a popular mod. Is it worth it??? I'd like the front to lift off the power in 2nd gear as I love the feeling but am not sure if it will with standard gearing.

Any comments???

Which model do you have Moz? I know some people have bought the 16 tooth to find they all ready have the 16 tooth on the 07 model but if you have the older model it is the first mod I did and is much better!
If you do have the 16 prob better dropping the teeth at the back
Moz...... did you buy marks bike?

05/06 best value mod to do...... 07 bikes come like it standard

Did mark not do this already before he sold it ?

Yeah I bought Mark's bike. Hopefully get it Sunday. Presume then it's a 16 tooth I want. Do renthal do them or is it a KTM powerpart? Does it make the front lighter off the throttle??? What else does it do (ie smooth it off, accelerate faster etc etc).

I changed the front sprocket on my old B1 with no problems. Any gotcha's with changing this one???? Will I need a new chain or can the slight difference be adjusted out?

Cheers

Or iff you have not got some one to hold the back brake for you ,put it in first gear and ,yous an old five LT" Oil container full of water and hang it on the back brake leaver

obveyesley this is befor you take the back wheel out, undo the frunt sproket nut first ,
And you'll need a big socket (was it 32mm Dr. F?) and a breaker bar.
