This bike is fitted with the included race exhaust and ecu and is loud very loud, for some reason it isn't offensive even tho it failed a recent noise test at 113db ! Sitting on it the position isn't as extreme as an 848 and all the controls are easy to use. As soon as I fire it up tho with the exhausts exiting where a pillion seat would be I know it's going to be scary. The engine responds instantly to the tiniest of throttle movements, comapred to the new blade I ride a few days ago it is a lot stronger off tickover, more like a twin which I guess is a good sign for the forthcoming Aprilia V4. Once off the roads aren't ideal for the bike and in the slow corners it isn't happy and wants to run wide. Gest better as I get used to it tho, the brakes are fierce but have loads of feel. The bike is in it's last stages of running in so ful throttle isn't really allowed but I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway, I'm using the midrange and it is awesome. It starts to wheelie at half throttle in the 1st 3 gears at around 5000 rpm, it does have 14500rpm to use ! We hit some A roads and the bike comes into it's own, it is super stable and turns quick. I really can't fault it but I'll be picky, the seat gets very hot from the exhausts, the mirrors are poor and as we found out it runs out of fuel at 65miles, 50yds from a petrol station.
It feels very special to ride and the noise reminds you what you are riding, I did 40 miles on it last night and can't believe I got the chance to ride one. Tank range aside it is perfectly useable as an everyday bike, If I could justify the cost I'd have one tomorrow for just that reason as it realy is nothing short of awesome !
