Duke easily stays with Duc 998 to 120 MPH

Friend has a 998 with Termis and tuning--mine with Leos and tuning (Akra map). I see him hit it from a stop down a long straight, so I take the bait. I am pleasantly surprised that I stay RIGHT THERE with him--and I am not really hitting my shift points all that great--to 120 MPH at which point I dial back (very windy day). We are the same weight and he has multiple track days so I know he knows how to properly cane the bike. I expected him to start leaving me over 100 mph with aerodynamics, but no....

My sd was actually gaining slightly on the 999 despite the wind trying to rip me off the bike
but i do have the modified gearing and akras without baffles
But i do agree to a certain extent that if i had a nice 916or 996/998 i would find it hard to replace with a superduke due to the ducatis iconic status
But the superduke is far easier to ride quickly on the roads
