Dunlop 208 RRs - Slippery, or the best a man can get?

#2I found the 208s terrible in heavy wet weather. Switched to the Pilot Powers and very happy.

#3Funny thing, we always use 207-208-209 stars for wet wether racing up here in Canada ? fronts were always mounted backwards for water dispercal.....work good for me ?

#5I've got the 209 on the back of mine and it definitely slides around in the cold and wet of the far North. Won't be putting them on next time. Perhaps the Metzlers?

#6Yup, it's the tyres. The Dunlops are (were) great when it's dry and warm, but are absolutely terrible when it's wet. For this reason, I switched to the Pilot Powers 2CTs. After two sets, I'd recommend the regular Pilot Powers. The 2CT's cost more, didn't really last longer, and I question whether or not they are less sticky than the regular Powers. However, after reading a few posts on the Forum, I'm also going to try the Metzler M3's next season....

#7Found the Dunlops to be crap up here in Glasgow too bud.
Got Pilot Power 2ct's at the minute, really happy with 'em, including riding to visit folk on boxing day.
May give the Metz a shot next time, but have concerns about wear on them.
Seen folks with fine tyres do a 40 mile spin and have canvas left at the end of it.

#9Hmmn, I just put a set of 208RR's on my SD. Been riding a few days on them and so far seem okay, that said I've been going gently (no hangin' off) as the weather/roads are shite at the moment.
Anyone tried Conti Road Attacks? I hear they're supposed to be good.
