ECU question

Friend of mine several months ago bought a brand new Ducati Street Fighter. He changed cans and i asked if he had to remap it . The response from him was " The ECU has enough intelligence with these Cans to make it's own adjustments ".....

So i'm wondering if the SD has the same type of intelligence to make it's own adjustments at all ?? NO ?

While i'm here just thought i'd say - i've had the throttle bodies off my SD several times and never Sync'd em - Just did the valve adjustment at 22K miles so had Throttles off and popped em back on no sync - was out riding today and just can't believe how smooth the bike is running. At a constant throttle such as 3rd it just simply doesn't skip a beat - Purrrrr fect !!

Why does the manual say to sync after pulling bodies off - they're bolted together , would seem as long as you don't go bending em all over the place they should stay put no ?

It seems that Ducatisty (that's what they call themself no?!) believe that nasa made the ecu for their bikes and have no idea about mechanics and electrics. Hence the huge service bills.
It is true that all ecu's compensate a to a certain degree for fluctuations but why do termi's for ducati's with a chip or remap then? Anything major needs a remap!

If you're careful the throttle bodies can be removed and refitted without syncing them. But I always check with tuneecu, sooo easy.

You could have bumped something and also gives away if you have any leaks etc...

You probably dont do much without dyno. Only option to manage without it is download available map, and even then you need dyno to check air/fuel ratio (plus all the throttle openings at all wheel resistances). My dyno tuner told me we will need a LOT of fuel, building a proper map via TuneECU. So again doing it without dyno is not a serious option.

So generally you need an Akra map as the beginning point (...or any map which is as close as possible to your bike setup). Tuner told me also this ⇧⇧⇧⇧.
