#2Simply you can't without doing at least 1 of those.
Technically speaking letting it run for 15mins isn't reseting the ECU its reset the ECU's baseline values which it refines as you ride.
The Diag tool would be able to reset the EEPROM (or flash) memory to all zero's (or default values) and do a proper job of reseting the ECU to factory settings.
