ecu tune cable ?

ok , everybody stop ,err just had some kind replies to my posts regarding my modds ie hooligan air box blah blah, posted my intentions to buy a pc 3 to fine tune the beast and some kind fellas have said dont just get a ecu tune cable thing, please explain to my caveman brain what this involves etc ie simples ! , ps had me first ride today ,what a laugh , get a forty tooth rear spocket and a hooligan box , better than anything tee hee . wheelies , noise , power ,

OK, just to get you started, it is long winded but you only really need to read the 1st 6/7 pages to get you started -

These parts will enable to to build the cable (far easier than it sounds) to connect to your ECU via TuneECU and upload any mapping you wish. Lots of us guys have made our custon maps available for you to download and install into your own ECU

But read the TuneECU thread carefully as installing the drivers for the cable has to be done properly

You could always "invent" some kind of wooded KTM wall art or something depending on what it looks like I may just buy one off ya Teak wood could be I have something to sell in the near future here,,,,,,,,,,,

The bits needed must be getting cheaper. I just bought the sumitomo plug from the States and the other two cables from ebay
for au$26 posted , sweet.

Right, been meaning to do this for a while now.

Read this thread and was literally trying to decide for about 10 minutes whether I should just accept the fact that I'm rubbish at practical stuff and buy a finished cable or buy the bits, make a cable and then start crying when I plug it in and the ECU bursts into flames.

In the end, paying £49 just because I am shit seemed like a bad deal, so I bought the components. Stay tuned for a disaster thread in the next few weeks....

I did the same mate. I was gona buy one but 1. They're not in stock and 2. I got no idea how to sort the shipping if I live outside the US or canada. So I'll take the gamble for half the price before shipping thanks.

Yesterday? Why then? If ur not having any luck I'm sure powercell can tell how to get it sent high priority. How come u couldn't arrange shipping?

If ur not having any luck, let me know and I will build you one and send it over... But could be as far as two months away before it would make it to ur door.

about 30bucks worth of parts delivered... i then went to jaycar and bough 1m of 4core cable too.. makes it easier to hook up to laptop with the longer cable plus i have a feeling that this may have something to do with why i never needed a ferrite cable filter or had connection issues.

I built my own rig up using paper clips and cable strands pulled from a lenght of 3 core flex I found at the side of the road. I insulated the cables using slivers cut from old Asda bags.

It's a bit Pikey but hey, this is Essex.*

I will be shipping my cable forms worldwide at low cost.
