Empty cooland resevoir.

I just bought a 2007 Superduke and i noticed that the coolant resevoir is empty. Should i be concerned with this or what are some things i should look for I have been reading alot about coolant in the oil on these bikes now im starting to worry. The bike only has 4992 miles on it. I cant ride it til spring because of the snow here. Any input? Thanks guys!
