Hey guys. Just curious to what peeps think a 2005 SD engine with 20k miles on it is worth? Just the engine, no throttle bodies ect. Thoughts please.
One thing for sure you get a better price if the buyer can hear the engine running and the milage can be verified

Cheers Russ. Just chatting to a mechanic m8 and he said the same thing. £650-750 tops.
SDR lump on the cards?

I wish it was a SDR lump but alas it's just a SD as a spare for my bike. I know the owner and it's all legit. After much swinging back and forth I think I'm going to stick with SD an race it next year. Emailed Hottrax this morning and they are planning a Streetfighter class next year so looking at that. Sportsbike would open more classes for me but just don't have 5k to throw at a track bike and the dosh to race next year. Nothing set in stone yet but am leaning this way.
Shame you didn't bust your old engine earlier mate! The guy near me where I just bought a spare tank, side-panels and subframe from sold his '07 engine complete with throttle bodies and all associated shit for £150.

You'd be better racing on a nice cheap R1 in the pre-injection class.
Racing any four cylinder bike is not going to be cheap,,,,,,all my friend's that race went the cheaper route,,using V-twin Honda's and Suzuki's,,,,and have money left over for the trip,,,,,,
If all goes to plan and house is sold I would be up for a couple of rounds as a laugh, I don't get many weekends off so have to take leave if I was working, doubt I would do a full season.

Well if you want cheap fun go for a Honda CB500 twin, I hear they can be tuned to put out around 70BHP and the weight got down below 160Kgs,
No track cred and you will have to ride the wheels off it, but no better way to learn I reckon
Yeah but if you have a bike already that clearly crashes well, why race anything else

To be fair it's a good laugh racing, that's all I'm after a giggle and tick the I done it box, prob 2 or 3 rounds I'd be up for, would be great with a few mates on sd's racing
I'm thinking of breaking my SD.
Guaranteed 132bhp - more if on a dynojet dyno.
Just built.
Hi comp pistons (£500), race cams (£500)
£1000?
LOL - I hope it comes with 20 liters of oil and a drip tray!
Seriously Dave, if you want to break your bike there's a group of us who will buy the wheels for Viking.
We should just do what the germans do and have a superduke cup, created by the owners
Dave that's sad to hear Shame after all the time and money that went into it.

If it does happen could I have dibbs on the Race mask? Hopefully going to need one next season.

He aint breaking the whole bike, just flogging the white elephant and buying a reliable (standard engine).

Dave you need to sell it on ebay. List all the parts you have added and what it cost you. You will probably get big money from some Billy Big Banana. He may even p/ex his std engine just to impress his pub/cafe mates with big spec and presumed hp numbers. If it were Danno, Freestyler or that welsh fella that bought a S1000RR (cant remember his name) you may be able to haggle in a go on his missus tits too.

It aint going to happen on here as we have all seen your threads on throwing money at a SD engine and gaining the square root of fook all.

Best of luck with the sale though and I cant wait for some fuckwit to join this forum with some superduper superduke engine (that makes 150bhp on the right dyno) that he got for just 1k plus his std engine.
Luke's right!
I'm just in a bad place right now.
Love my SD but gutted that after everything that I didn't get to ride it much and when I did I was waiting for the next bad thing to happen so I didn't get to really get 'on it'.
I'll get over it but right now I'd like to see the back of it TBH.
I'm considering selling it all and buying a Triumph 1050 speed triple and supercharging it.
Seriously Dave,if you are selling ,as DP says we would try and get the wheels for Gordon. Can't think of a more deserving home for them
kluncky , i would be up for a few rounds ,just for the giggle.
