Engine replacement

Hi all
Seeing all the problems I've had with my pig lately, a mate of a mate wrote his 2010 sd off and the engine is for sale,
So Will a 2010 engine fit straight in a 2005 bike with no problems?
Will I need a 2010 loom as well or will the 2005 be the same? Is there anything else that would need to be changed?

Engine should fit straight in. If you could get the wiring loom, ecu and dash etc. this might help facilitate the transplant.
Theoretically the ECU should work but you need to load another map in it, all up it might be easier to swap everything.
If it was ne I would try to buy the whole lot to get the bigger tank and newer dash also depending on the state of it.
