Not speaking from experience, but from reading other members threads, the exhaust will touch down first on the right side, and the sidestand on the left, so you footpegs should be OK. As for stalling on downshifts, the SD has a crude form of 'anti-hop' you could call it, in that when you clutch in and change down the engine stays up at 3000 rpm to stop the back wheel locking when you release the clutch (its actuated by the microswitch under the clutch lever you can see) this should stop the engine stalling on downshifts. The big contencious isue is the steering damper, we've had many haeted debates about whether or not the SD needs it, I personaly won't fit one while ever I have a hole in my ar*e, but others swear by them, the choice, as they say, is yours.
I did a trackday at castle combe the other day and had no problems at all. No stalling, no grinding of pegs, exhaust, side stand etc, in fact i only just managed a knee down. This was all on the sport settings for the suspension.

If you don't have the 16tooth front already... get one... the 600's will have a lot of trouble then.... and you'll still be able to do about 247km on the straights... I was spanked by a 675 daytona when I first took my bike to the track (with a 17)... Reeled one in without too much trouble with the 16t...

It's amazing how many people come up for a look at the SD in the pits.... especially when they see it ripping up the inline 4's in the corners... And if you get pipes.... don't stand near it unless you want to talk to every tom, dick and harry.... or your mates with their 'worked' 1000's will be very jealous of all teh attention...

Can't say I've ever thought I've needed a steering damper either. Only time it gets a bit nervous is when I'm driving really hard out of a corner, but it's not un-nerving at all..

Setup your suspension and you'll notice a huge difference. I'm 95kg with gear.. I went max preload on the front (36mm sag for me) and about an extra 4 turns on the rear shock (30mm sag). Then set it to the 'sport' settings for damping... I haven't felt the need to change from that...
