Evotech Tail Tidy

Having just taken delivery of this item, i note in the instructions that it is necessary to remove the exhausts in order to fit. Is this still the case with aftermarket cans (Yosh)? It does after all seem a trifle extreme in order just to fit a number plate hanger!

Interesting... Does that also mean i will have to remove my ventura rack system? Because that would be a massive pain!!!

I think and imagine you dont have to remove after market pipes. I was just looking at mine two minutes ago and thinking about an after market tail tidy.

you have to remove the entire under tray to cut it to length so yes you'll have to strip the back of the bike down. its a bit of a job to fit but makes he bike look 100 times better

Spud any pics... Now I'm thinking about one. I have FMF pipes and I'm hoping that the evo tail tidy will fit. The FMF are one of the shorter after market pipes. So could you take some measurements from the base of the light to the top of the indicators light mount on the tidy tail. I wanted to use the stock lights.

The tail fits fine with the FMF's. For the signals, the best way to go there would be an integrated tail light. [/img]

I believe its Moto-Tune on ebay? The wireing is not plug and play, but its simple. You will need to buy and wire up new connectors though, if I remember correctly.

Well it's now fitted. A few points:

Firstly you DO NOT have to remove the undertray as some have suggested on here and secondly you DO NOT have to remove the exhausts so thanks for the bum steer on this chaps! (You know who you are).

Now i need some info on the indicator replacements as the standard ones don't clear the Yoshis. Ideally i'd like to retain the standard ones by fitting a bracket to lower them by approx 2 inches - Any ideas? Failing that i can fit mini indicators but to be honest i'm not keen as every chaved GSXR over 3 years old seems to have these fitted.

I've posted some pics in the gallery of how I made the Evotech fit with the Leo cans.



I lowered the entire plate assembly a bit (used an old Rizoma bracket) and put my signals lower with some other brackets I had lying around. Also used the Rizoma light assembly, I didn't have the original one.

The Evotech assembly is still complete, I'm thinking about putting Kellerman's in the original holes, but I'm not sure yet.

Also put a few pics of my custom TomTom bracket in the gallery for anyone who is interested...
