Hi Guys

thanks for all the replies in my last thread, where I whined about the stupid Carbon Fiber tank failing on me.

I have changed it for a plastic tank today. When I unmounted the CF tank I took some pictures. The first one here, is of the place where the fuel ran out:

It's on the right hand side of the bike, behind the spoiler. It's almost as bad in the other side of the tank.. Holy shit what a piece of crap.

Look at this picture. The CF on the left, new plastic on right:

The plastic tank has a thing more attached, at the top left corner. I've look at microfiche drawings, and I can see that the thing mounted in the tank is the fuel level indicator thing.
The old tank didnt have one? But it could still meassure when I needed fuel!

The white plug is the fuel pump, the black one is the fuel level indicator. I can't see where I should mount the fuel level plug, I can't find the place in the wiring loom on my bike. So the black plug is not mounted to anything..
Help my out here.. I haven't driven more than 8km since I put on the new tank and havent found out if the fuel level indicator still works.. I guess there's some indicator built into the fuel pump?

Btw, after I took off the CF tank, I could hear something rattle inside it.. Desided to bang it againts the grass in the garden, these things fell out.. lots of them inside the tank..

Thanks for listenening to my ramblings and thanks for all your help btw

I guess I better go look again for the plug to connect the fuel level indicator.. But the weird thing is, where wasnt one on the old CF tank, but it still meassured the fuel level?

And no, not an answer yet, but I think KTM have only recieved my letter yesterday or today.. takes a while from DK to Austria

I'm going on holiday in Villach, austria, in a couple of weeks. Mattighofen, where KTM has their headquarters, is 232KM above Villach and is on our way home.. I could be tempted to bring the stuped expensice piece of shit tank, and go in and ask what's up with it
There is a cable that goes into the fuel tank on the plastic version, it looks like cable thats been mashed up?

The CF panels/spoilers I have fitted perfect on the 15L tank.. So I think I will have to buy new on a 17L tank.. But thats ok.. I have just been on holiday touring - Denmark to Villach (Austria), and then thru Slovenia, Italy and .cz on the way home.. about 3500km in 6 days.. Had to refill so many times that it's almost stupid.. my buddies gave me a lot of flack because of that hehe

A guy on a BMW F800R only had to fill his tank half as many times as me...
