Favorite brand of biking gear...

Just wondering what everyones favouring brand was for leather jackets / trousers.. Taking into mind cost, how long its lasted and fit etc..

Am in need of new jacket / trousers and have found a few nice ones from arlen ness & dainese, to buy the ktm stuff could be a little to much like i wanna be in the club so to speak, although the black ktm leather jacket with the spine protector does look tasty !

I will get some Lindstrands the next time. all the tests I see recommend that brand. It's also made in Sweden, and I like stuff thats made in scandinavia
I have a friend that works at a dealership selling stuff like this, he also recommends Lindstrands, and he's unbiased towards me, so I thrust him.

George your not far from bristol so take a trip into HRS bike stuff shop on hotwells road. it's i small fronted dusty old shop that is not on the net as that's too much work but theyre stuff is great value and good quality and you can try anything on with no pressure whatsoever
it's gotta be worth a go aint it?

Really? I figured we'd have more Dainese fans here. I that's pretty much all I wear. I've tried every brand of gear we can get in America and nothing seems to fit or function quite as well as Dainese. Admittedly though, my one-piece suit is from BKS because I got such a great deal on it. There some areas where the seams are a bit rough on the skin but the fit and finish right up there with Dainese.

As for helmets, I'm a fan of AGV or Shoei. Have owned both and loved them. I'm currently wearing an X-11

I have the Arlen Ness Kangaroo one peice. It is rubbish, I cant jump any higher and considering it is made from the only animal that has pockets why hasnt it got any

Mind you if I ever see Al Capone I am going to give him a right good kicking. Oh...errr...that was Eliott Ness wasnt it

I have Schuberth S1 (my 2nd one as I jumped off my bike with the first one), and my chicadee has got the R1. The R1 is a bit more suitable for arse-up-head-down bikes. S1 is better for real bikes.

The price you found is probably RRP. If you don't go for the S1 Pro, you can get he S1 (don't think there's much difference between them - I don't remember exactly but it wasn't worth the extra money when I bought my 2nd one) for £199.

They're really quiet; I only use earplugs on really long journeys (if I remember to put plugs in). They're really good aerodyniamically, they don't strain your neck at higher speed. For my head they're very comfortable too. I like the features; Pop down sun visor, very tight fit on the visor and sealed with a rubber lip. The first time I turned on the top vent it felt like taking a hat off, almost drafty.
Downside is that the shell is quite big, and you kinda look a bit like Dark Helmet from Spaceballs.

Awesome helmet pingvin!

I have to say that my old Teknic suit have been very good and saved my skin a few times..

However, I just got the new Dainese Red Line suit and this thing is incredible! It's a bastard to get on because it's so snug but when you do it's so comfortable and moves with you.. It also makes it a lot easier to move around on the bike and the venting is amazing.. Here's a pick from this weekend..
