Finally

As some may recall I bought a superduke race bike a couple of months ago, it was bought new in March 07 and converted straight into a race bike and not registered. Over £2500 was spent on the suspension and a further £3000 on exhaust, bodywork, rearsets power commanders and set-up.

I took it for a trackday at Cadwell and it was awesome just perfect, in the meantime we had decided to move house so we had to sell some bikes and make do with one each. I knew the multi wasn't gonna be any good on track and a session proved that but I loved it on the road. The decision was made to register the SD and sell multi

In the deal with the SD I got all the bodywork, clocks and a new tank so these were duly fitted the speedo showing 0 miles. I had to jump thro some hoops with the DVLA but 3 weeks on the tax disc for the bike arrived. I had fitted som Michelin road 2CT's, a touring screen(riot shield) and have found a 20ltr tank to replace the stock 15ltr one. If I can't have a multi I can make this one damn close. I also bought a 3rd set of wheels so I can fit the road tyres to them.

Here goes is it gonna be as good on the road as the multi, first impressions leaving home are good but 3 miles later the heavens open and I'm on brand new tyres, I stop to take some pics and the rain goes so I press on. The screen is good for 100mph cruising so that's one perceived problem solved, the seat is as comfy as the multi and the riding position altho more forward biased is perfect. The brakes are similar but the biggest difference which is no surprise is the handling, it is in a different league to the multi and as good as the best sportsbikes even at high speed. The engine is not as torquey below 5k revs as the 1100 multi and it doesnt want to wheelie as easy, thats not to say it's hard tho and it will still pick up in 3rd and 4th over crests The throttle response is a bit snatchy at low revs with small throttle openings. I noticed this straight away but by the end of the 40mile ride I had forgot about it.

So altho I'm sad to see multi go I'm more than happy with the replacement, moving house has stopped me looking for anything else at the moment but tbh I'm as close to being happy with my bike choice as I have for a while
