OK...rode it quite a bit this weekend...what great weather! First thing I noticed...people in cars suck! I had so many different idiots either cut me off or just ignore me. I'm brand new to street riding and I have to say that you need to be on your game all the time. OK...rant over...the engine does feel a little better but it is still somewhat jerky at low throttle. Bear in mind this is a completely stock bike. I wonder if the stock pipes with the stock mapping are just really lean? I don't know but I really do want to look into some new slipons. The stock cans also make it hard to hear the bike...for me and for cars. I rotated the bars forward and moved the controls up...much better. Also noticed the wind for the first time. Guess it's all in getting used to it. Love it though. Trying to piece together a must do upgrade list by educating myself on all the options. Taking my time. Hopefully get some nice evening rides in this week with the time change giving us another hour of daylight here in the west!
First must do. Pipes and map. The rest are optional.

Katoom (and Kuerbis) - I remember you guys from SoCalSportbikes (now SoCalmoto.org). I too just bought a SuperDuke, and like everyone else - Love it!

Gents - As far as all the various modifications to do (SAS Removal, Secondary Throttle Body Removal, 2nd/3rd Gear wire, Maps, Throttle tube and basically everything else we've learned to smooth this baby out..) We should have a "How To" Sticky for each change, no?

I am about to do many of these mods myself based on readings here, so maybe I can formally document each as I do it...then if its good enough to pass for a techsheet, have the mods sticky it.

If there are well-written details already, lets sticky them.
I know what you are saying about the ragin' cagers in the South Bay. I lived there in the early 90's and had a Harley Sportster for cruising the beach. I gave that bike up after some dingbat woman hung a left right in front of me -- while staring straight at me.

That was it. I gave up motorcycles until 2 years ago.

If you get a chance, come up to Ventura county. The drivers may not be any better, but there are less of them.
congrats katoom dude if you've been riding mx bikes all your life then riding the duke is no different just ride it like its a mx bike and you've stole it...lol

i've come from mx to road bikes and thats the way i ride them, works for me..lol
