First ride out of the year

I only had time for a quick blast to the local motorbike shop to get my chain link splayed as I did not have the right tool.

Its sunny here but forecast showers so took thought it would be a good time to don my new textiles, probably a size to small top and bottom but for the price they fit ok, think if you were talking to me on a intercom you could swear you were talking to Barry Gibb.

Then it was some fuel and a blast down the Louth bypass all in all less than ten miles but just wanted to get a feel for what I had done and adjustments needed.

Bear in mind the last time I rode the bike was in October so in a way have forgotten what the bike feels and sounds like.

So the Motobox, I could hear more noise from the induction roar (I wear earplugs so maybe slightly less) but I was slightly dissapointed it never sucked up any children from the pushchairs as I rode past into the airbox, oh well certainly sounds good but as for performance see above, been to long to notice any improvements but I dont doubt for one moment if has some benifit.

I have changed to 16-40 (again) and it rips to 100 in no time, had the front wheel of the ground a few times on acceleration think im going to grow to like this set up.

Sigma slipper clutch works well and I still have plenty of engine braking (dependant on what size plate you use) downshifted deliberatly ham fistidly where I would usually blip the throttle and the clutch sorted itself out nicely. However the clutch action is much stiffer (not a bad thing) and I am now getting a "clicking" feel through the clutch lever at first pull?

My new white clock backgrounds dont allow me to see the Nuetral light or any other light for that matter, was fine in the garage but in the sunlight not good, will have to use the the new lights and resistors that came with it.

Having used the rearset adjusters I need to put the gear lever further down struggling to upshift as my foot does not bend that far, easy fix hopefully. Does anyone know where you can get a universal rod I could cut to size? at the moment its a mish mash of parts. The rear brake was not working for some reason either the rod is level will have to investigate.

So to sum up, bike goes like stink, I sithed through the traffic like some of the stolen scooter riders I chase so often, but needs a few tweeks but overall a happy boy to be out on my bike again

Forecast dont look great for next few days either, if I was DP I would stay a couple of extra days in Caribean and give Cadwell a miss!

Its a male male M8 fitting is that correct?

Sorted the speedo lights out, just removed the orange cover so saved me haveing to put the new bulbs in with resistors phew.

In fairness if I had the airbox sooner I would have gone out the other week.

Yeah looking good weather for Monday and they still have places on open pit lane at cadwell........hmmmmm
