First service is done! Yes I was a good boy and ran it in by the book.
Service cost was $450NZD which was pretty good - well better than I thought anyway - it translates to US $340 or UKP $168.
My dealer gave me a real old nail to ride though slow, sluggish and old fashioned - I was not happy... Here is a pic:
At least it was a KTM i guess.... It was similar but felt odd - very soft and fluffy after the R and fat through the middle [the R has an extremely narrow waist] - brakes are fierce though.
Fitted up the Akras and had the new map installed... WOW
These pipes are loud and I mean really !!!!!!
I have had ducatis with Arrows and remus pipes and they were loud but they are a fart in a jar compared to these akras. Definitely compulsory earplugs
I got the Akras for NZ $600 [US $450 or UK $220] before I got the bike on our version of eBay so they don't owe me much. It was a punt as I was not sure whether they would fit the R or look good if they did... Against all expectations I think they look hot! The length didn't look right on the standard SD but I reckon they look purpose built for the R with is longer tail...
Took these pics after its weekly bath...
Goes without saying it rides like a different bike! The pipes an map have uneashed the beast within
