Hi Guys,

What would you expect to pay for a first service on a 08 SD?

Cheers, Jay.
Don't know how it compares, but in South Africa, while my Dad's 08 Blade was R400 and buddy's Triumph 1050ST was R750, my 07 SD's was R1400 So you can get a relative idea (ie: facking expensive)

i was told ~$1000 (CAD)... i thought their nuts. SDSmurf is right though, lots of things to be done on first service, just look in your manual. having said that, 90% can be done by yourself, if you have the right tools. Valve clearances check is the only thing (i think) that i have not done myself.
I was quoted $400US for the first service, oil, valve check, etc... THEN they said it would be an additional $250-$300 "IF" the valves needed to be adjusted
I've adjusted all my own valves on my dirtbikes. How much of a pain is it to adjust the Shim & bucket set-up???
