OK, I bought a set of Carbon Fiber FMF Apex pipes... They are very tasty indeed.. Carbon canisters with titanium end caps..

These things sound FANTASTIC... But DAMN they are friggin LOUD... I wanted a nice mean sound, but at this rate I think the neighbors may come over with pitch forks and torches...

My question for anyone out there that has 'em... The pipes come with decibel killers and they can be installed two different ways.. According to the instructions one way reduces the sound some and the other way reduces the noise greatly... Anyone install these on the Apexes? Which way did you install them?

Looking for some idea of what "Reduces the noise greatly" really means... I want it to remain nice throaty and mean sounding, but I don't need it to shake the dishes off of the neighbors shelves...

See this thread. I am getting the Apex and doing this mod as several on here have said that the quiet inserts do very little to mitigate the loud noise from these pipes. Good picture of finished result on page 2 of the thread.
