Forum downtime explained

Firstly we're back!

The reason the forum was down for those of you who don't know is as follows. The site was never actually not live. The problem was with Tucows. They control the domain names and when you register a domain you have to leave a email and phone number. The guy Angelo aka Someone (owner and guy who continues to pay for the server) got to setup the site has since changed his phone number and email address, it was 2006 when it was setup. Tucows on occasion try and contact people with these details. If there is no reply they take the domain down. Without this there is no way to actually reach the server even though its still live. It's taken quite a while to sort this out with Tucows. They don't move quickly but finally it's done and we have access again

So contrary to what we've seen posted elsewhere by a couple of people it had nothing to do with Angelo not paying the bills. Even though he no longer owns a Superduke he continues to pay and is very happy to continue doing so. He's really proud to see what he created still going strongly 7 years later. So big thanks to him for that and sorting the issue out and getting us back the forum we all love so much. Also for his continued finical support for the forum.

So there you have it.
Hurray! What a relief to be back here! Well done Klinky for all your efforts and hard work and antone else who has helped to get this forum back on line. I always had faith.
I don't care, for the last 2weeks have been checking site everyday, and looking if the fqdn was up for sale. This is defo too long. Next time we should all pull together to keep he forum alive. I would have hosted it at home temporary if it was the case .
I recon we need Angelo on the front page as the unsung hero

sweet jeebus.. HOORA... now I don't have to try and do actual work in the office..
Thanks for all the hard work guys!
Is there a contingency for next time?
Thanks to Angelo for paying for this... If you ever get sick of it, let us know.
This forum having no adds and just pure info is the best... I think that may be one of the reasons we don't have a multitude of knobs on here!
Always had faith that all this would return and I have a feeling it's here for a long time to come (better be as I never intend to sell this thing until it's FINISHED, which it probly never will be ) thank you Klinck for all of your dedication to this site, you've made the equilibrium of our universe right once again
Thank god it's back... now I can get rid of the other drugs and start wasting time at work in a correct way if there ever was one...
Big thank you to all involved solving this!

Thanks for making the effort everyone involved. I was lost but now I'm found.
Thanks for everyone's hard work at getting it back on line, now what to mod next
Thousand thanks to Angelo and all of you who worked hard bringing the forum back!
I'd love to bathe in the glory of all the hard work I did to restore the forum but in truth I actually did pretty much fook all Just a few emails back and forth with Angelo, mainly passing on what the likes of Schnauzer, BLB, and Bert had dug up from hunting around the internet. In the end just pestering Angelo for info on when we could expect it back up so I could pass on to FB page ect.
Well done dudes

I think there was a glitch in the Matrix...
I'm actually happy that the forum was down for length of time it was!

Only because it is now unblocked by my works web page blocker!
It's back, what a relief!

I swear to god, when I first saw it was down my heart skipped a bit. I even thought of going back to Jap bikes, that's how bad it was.
I like others have had a big sigh of relief. I own a 08 SDR and would be lost without the info available on Superduke.net. Well done to whom ever got the site back up and running.

Thank you Angelo and all concerned

Donate option seems fair to me ....no adverts for sure

As has often been said...you have to nearly lose it.... to realise how much it really means to you (Cue "Big Yellow Taxi".........and.......fade out)
Wow, I can finally stop my shrink sessions. Had nowhere to turn to anymore. And you know what, the shrink had no aswers at all about how to fix the superduke. He tried the internet, but couldn't find shit

He tried to put me away in the 'nuthouse'. I told him that that was exactly where I was coming from

Good to be back. Thanks to everybody who has made it possible.
Thanks god or thks Angelo....we´re back!!! hahahaha
Appreciate getting the site back up and running.

Have been at a total loss without the site.

Massive thanks to all those involved in getting things back online!

Nice to be back.

Adios to Maggie and burn in hell to the pricks that booed her corpse today... The whole country should have been on their knees thanking the woman that saved them from certain ruin.

RIP and thank you Iron Lady!
