Can't stand guys like that, they get in the B group and they think it's a race weekend. Wonder what all the silent portions of the video were about? Doing a colorful commentary of his fellow track riders I presume.

#13Well ridden, mate. Good choice of lines to carry speed, can't see wher you put a tyre wrong. The GSXR guy will get better as he keeps his eyes open. All in all, looked like a pantloaod of fun!

Seems to me there are some easily excited people on this forum, the critism of riding technique is well over the top. I thought you both rode well, the overtakes of other riders were well made with plenty of space and the dice between the two of you looked fun without being over agressive in any way. Yes of course some of the lines were a bit wonky but it's a track day not Moto GP so who cares. The two of you looked like the fastest bikes on track, way to go
One thing that did surprise me was that the SD seemed to be as fast as the gixer down the straight. MY K5 gixer murdered any V twin in a straight line so I guess your mate was on a 750 and not a 1000.
Anyway great video, makes me wonder about doing a few more track days myself

#21I really enjoyed that, and had no idea that Mettet, home of the epic "superbiker" event had a short circuit.
At first I thought the GSXR Jockey was a potential accident and after a while thought he was a fair rider who didn't know the track very well.

To each their own. You want to ride with a nut job like that trying to pass you up the inside that's your choice. I personally wouldn't let him anywhere near me.
Track days are about learning the track and then progessively getting quicker without endangering the others around you. Simples.

#25Looked like a fun session,GSXR bloke's riding looked a bit iffy in place's but if as you say he's a mate and you know how each other ride then i'd say it was safe enough and a good tussle and you both past other user's safely enough from what i could see

you should see me on the road with one of my mates (this guys only though), we come into corners elbow to elbow (literally touching at times) jostling for the corners... it is always fun to pass on the right hand side too as when you go past (coming out of the corner, not mid) you flick the kill switch.
Ok that all sounds a lil extreme but when you know somone well, you know where they brake, what line they take, when they get on the gas, you can f@ck around
that being said I would not even ever consider getting within a bike length of someone else

#30Looked like fun to me. When I'm having a trackday with my buds, I'll sometimes grab their leg just above the boot as I go by. I know, probably not the safest thing to do but we have fun with it. Just don't let the marshals see you do it.

Speaking of trackdays we should organise a SE QLD effort in the near future, did QR last weekend was good to get back into it after 9 months off the bike with back issues.
Prolly go out again next weekend.
