Free Brake checks until end of April 2010

#2Yes I got that letter too. My bike hasnt been used over winter this year so I doubt I need it.
However, I want the free brake check because;
a. It costs KTM money
b. It is the least I can do for Russ, Vertigo and the others that have had a problem and have had to endure a prolonged and unecessary arguement with KTM UK to gain even this meagre attempt at Customer service.
I am particularly keen to test ride a Ducati Streetfighter whilst the brake check is carried out as I am tempted to sell / p/ex the SDR for either this or the RC8R , or an RSV4 this year. Although the new S1000R BMW and 1200S Multistrada both look awesome so it may be worth holding on another year for bargain sports and sports touring bike upgrades.
My biggest problem is my nearest dealer. Laguna Motorcycles aka Care Home for motorcycle trade retards. There is a very real chance my brakes could be safe before the safety check and unsafe once this bunch of halfwit chimpanzees have laid hands on them.
Do I?;
a. Have the brake check then spend an afternoon checking anything a Laguna windowlicker may have touched.
b. Travel 40 miles plus to the next nearest dealer, whos competence I have, as yet, no reason to doubt.
c. Ignore the letter, in the knowledge that KTM will consider that a get out clause if the brakes do bind and have me on my arse.
D. Wait until someone on here has the brake check. Then swap calipers, whilst they are distracted on the next track day or bike meet.
