front exhaust header cracked...lambda sensor threaded blanks

i noticed this week that my exhaust was blowing on the front header so after a good look i thought it was the gasket blowing,so today i took off the exhaust to change the gasket and when i got it off the collar at the top had cracked completley off,so now i have to get it welded by a mate so my question is are the exhaust headers stainless steel or titanium as they are very light in weight..???? on a plus note i've ordered all new exhaust studs and bolts and a new exhaust gasket for the rear one where the rear joins together so it should be like new after getting it welded,thats if it is stainless steal if its titanium i'll have to try another mate who works at a engineering place instead,to be honest with you they could be welded alot better,instead of welding right at the end of the pipe from the inside they could of welded it on the outside aswell just by putting a chanfer in to the collar and welded on the underside of it on the outside of the pipe aswell..????

so are the exhausts titanium or stainless steel..???? cheers

i also removed the lamda sensors out of the exhaust,do any one sell blanks to replace the lambda/02 sensors to thread back in to the exhaust front and rear ...thanks

Always thought they were stainless,,, on the stocker.,

If they are stock they are stainless. If you have full system then they could be Titanium. Are they blue? If so then they are. I'm guess looking at pic they are Stainless though. I had mine welded a few months ago as they had cracked where rear joins. Prob a good idea to check there as well as Shades snapped in exactly the same place when we were out for a blast.

got 2 off ebay last night going to pick up exhaust in a hour as it's done and my mate found another crack in it aswell,he just phoned me now to pick it up going to give him £5 for a couple of pints as thats all he wants...lol

Result! Let us know where the other crack was. Wondering if its in the smae place as mine and Shades went.

got the exhaust back and the other crack is in the join where the two pipes join....

im usually work on saturdays so i could'nt go,they're deffo softies,they be pissed on 4 pints here...lol.....then again they get eaten alive if they come here anyway and thats would be just the women doing them...lol
