Front sprocket wtf

Gday,

So i went to fit my vortex 520 17 tooth front spocket on my 05 sd on the weekend, wouldnt fit, the teeth hit the swingarm, checked online to make sure i had been sent the right part no, confirmed on vortex website but they say for 07-08 sd. I looked at the ktm part nos and they are the same for 05 07+ for the 525 can anyone conform whether the front sprocket for 07-08 should fit an 05-06.

As far as I know they are the same.

My money is on it not being a 17 tooth sprocket!

It is a very close fit but not that close.
On the same subject how does everyone join their chain, Link, Rivet or Endless?

Tried all three on various bikes..... At the moment the SD chain is riveted....

Yeah it is a 17 toother i just counted http://www.vortexracing.com says it will fit an sd, vortexsprockets.com only lists 15 and 16 tooth as compatable i would have thought a 17 tooth from one co would be the same diameter as from another? Fit wasnt close either.
