G'Day guys,
I was wondering what fuel consumption you get? I'm getting around 150kms until the fuel light. Is this right? The fuel light also stays on for a while after i fill it. Any help would be awesome. It's an 06 and I'm about to seriously mod it, just trying to find out if there's another thing to look at.
Thanks
Sounds about right for a 06 (with a smaller tank) also the light always stays on for a while after filling it tells you in the manual how to reset it instantly but it should reset itself after a few seconds after filling.

it turns itself off after about 5mins or something similarly trivial. It's supposed to - don't worry. Panicked me the first time I filled up!
Yep, I get 150 - 160 from my stock '06 before the light comes on.

I'm keen to see what I'll get with the new mods and map.
Respectfully, who gives a shit? I've never checked mine.....you wring it's neck and fill er up when it's low, so you can do it all over again!

LOL x2... The SD isn't really the kinda bike that inspires fuel consumption debates, but on the BMW forums you'll find spreadsheets and all sorts...

Anyway wellcome to the forum. Look forward to seeing pics of your bike and all your mods.
But its useful to know when the closest decent petrol station can be over 100km away... We cover more ground over here. I emptied an 06 fuel tank in 75kms
I only get about 80km per tank, but it only takes about 10l of gas to fill it back up. Is my fuel light just coming on too soon?
I used to get about 80ish miles to the light on my '06. Managed to get 50 once . Changed for an '07 tank and now get 120-130miles.

Taking a slight tangent, but how far can the SD go after the light comes on?
You can still go a fair way after the light comes on, If I fill up as soon as I get the light, I can only get about 11l in it.

So in theory I could get about 210klm out of it.
I take arround 60-70 klms in traffic and 100-120 on the highway. Its one big sin for this motorbike, but in everything else is awsome.
Once you fill your tank turn on ignition ( don.t start bike) and press and hold set button untill fuel light goes off, I get about 80-85mpg normal driving untill fuel light comes on, most I.ve done with fuel light on 20miles.

my o6 duke on average is 150km before the fuel light comes on and then i can get 30km on the f.trip i then have 1L of fuel left in the tank... but my bike has a few mods and i punish the duke when i get on it... I dont think there is another way to ride it.

Cheers guys,
I'm offshore at the moment so no pics or mods for a week or two. I don't care about economy I was just making sure it was normal. All the tips were awesome, I might even look into a larger tank for touring as the distance between stops is fairly large in West Oz.
I have a large tank, but dont want to bother with mounting it on the bike. I need new tank side spoilers too, and thats about $1000 if I want them in CF again.. argh

I get about 140-160km before the yellow lights come on.
How much for the tank big fella?
Pre-motobox, I would typically get the light at about 130 miles. After the 'box was fitted, it comes on at about 150. When I fill up, she takes about 4.2 to 4.5 gallons to fill.

Mileage will probably improve more after I download a TuneECU map.

Oh, this is mostly 45-80mph highway commuting, with some city & WFO blasts mixed in(and the occasional canyon run as well).
