Full Akras_pros&cons

Hello

I am thinking of getting a full exhaust system for my bike (headers+cans). It's too expensive so I am thinking if it worths it.

How much torque and power do you gain with such a system? Does the fuel consumption increase a lot ? Is it lighter and cooler (in terms of temperature and not "look" ?

I know its a newbie question so all replies are really appreciated.

Pros:
More power. Probably ~5hp & ft/lbs.
Less weight. You'll shed 25lbs off your bike from up high where it makes a big difference.'
Much cooler. The stock muffler/cat gets stupid-hot.
Sound. If you've ever heard an SD with the system, it's a no-brainer.

Cons:
Cost. $2k is a lot of scratch for pipes.

Slip-ons are a lot more affordable & will give you extra $ to get your Motobox & several other choice bits for the same money. My $.02

The slip ons make more sense TBH.

Unless you can get a good deal on the full system or are minted then I'd go slip ons. I did find a good deal but I would not have paid 2k for it.

However they do look fab and give a HP boost with a tune.

You get only 5 hp with a full system?

Does the headers make such a difference in temperature and power (instead of having only the slip-ons)?

Exactly as been said already. Full system is only worth it if you can find second hand but it will only add about 5bhp over slip ons. The whole system is a wider diameter so you have to match the silencers with the headers. There is another advantage in that the "Y" piece on the full system is connected with a simple plug fit tube and Akra springs - not the ball joint that is used on all the other systems - which has a tendency to disintegrate the graphite seal and cause air leaks and popping. But if you find a Titanium system then the colour of the titanium is worth every penny!

1k more euros doesn't worth for 5hp, but except of weight loss does it make such difference in temperature.

Has any one tried the stainless Remus full system?
