so i just fitted the motobox but haven't gotten around to taking it to the dyno yet. From reading up on here, heard the engine can run lean, blow a piston/valve/explude, mangle me and my hopes/dreams. But...after install and idling and revving it for a bit and not hearing strange/bad noises, i went one step further into riding it slowly around town....and further into riding it hard(er) around town. Does seem to pull harder and certainly makes a great intake sound, but does this mean i'm beyond the risk of death by lean running? Or am i just playing russian roulette?

i'm guessing since the bike is running fine right now, i should check my plugs for signs of lean (easier now w/o the coffin in the way). Interestingly, a dyno guy I spoke with highly recommended going PC3 vs tuneECU (and certainly made it more affordable to go the PC3 route)...

thoughts?
If you are running an akra map, you will be fine... But not the stock map.

As for tune ecu being more expensive, yes for some tuners who are not familiar with it, it will cost more. It is a slightly slower process but you can get the advantage of ignition advance which is where the real power is gained
HM Racing were trying to get me to buy a PCIII again to re-map my bike again. TuneECU might be a bit slower but I fail to see how it's more expensive considering they thought 3 hours to dyno the bike at £50 an hour with TuneECU compared to buying a PCIII and then still dyno'ing the bike for at least 2 hours. Math doesn't add up. PCIII way is just easier for them and they are being lazy.
Must be a map on site that would suit your bike.

BTW Klink I have used your map (06, Akro, MH) and the bike runs great. Went for a 900km punt on the week end and managed another 20km before the fuel light came on + all the other benefits. My shout next time I see you. Cheers.
