OK, so the 3D housing is now available, anybody thinking of grabbing 1?

Also this little item could be useful, An LCD screen that includes a larger rear housing part so it all fits nicley in a small package still -



Not sure how they only cost $80 in the USA but over here were expected to pay £90 odd for 1

I've got the previous version and its very good.
This looks like a major improvement.

I had the Go Pro wide angle (pre HD). I wasn't a fan of the controls and abandoned using it after I unwittingly videotaped myself breaking various traffic laws while believing the camera was turned off. The LED screen should prevent such misadventures.

I recently purchased a Contour GPS. The camera has a huge slide bar and red LED that indicate it is recording, so I shouldn't have any more mishaps. The only particular downside I saw to the Contour was, again, its lack of a viewfinder. Contour recently rectified that problem by releasing a bluetooth card and I-Phone app that allows you to view the camera's output on your i-Phone. It works pretty well, but has frozen on me a couple of times.

The reason I bought the Contour is that you can make some pretty cool videos, complete with gps locations and speeds using this software: www.Dashware.net. Of course, since I bought the camera, I haven't had an opportunity to get back to the track so, it sits in its box waiting to be unleashed.

I have a contact at GoPro Europe I'm going to send them an email see if I can get a group buy discount on the screens.

just been using the new lcd screen this weekend at nurburg and today at Spa fromchamps... awesome really easy to use and easy to set up now as you can see where the camera points

1 hours straight use today at spa and it was just down to 3/4 , as you can make the lcd screen stay on for 60 secs, 3 mins or another time or all the time, but i only have on for 60 secs so i know what i am recording then it swtiches off

Blimey, these have been out for ages, bit slow on the uptake

The LCDs were £50 when they came out, have they put em up to £90 now the cheeky bastards.

I use mymemory.co.uk for all my memory card needs too, excellent service and great prices, the first cards I ordered didn't work in the gopro and they had no problems taking them back and swapping for the kingston class 4s.

I wouldn't bother spending money on anything else, they tested the cameras with the Kingston class 4s and they just work, I've heard of at least 3 people buying faster class 6 cards from reputable manufacturers that haven't worked, including myself.

Got my Kingston class 4 off amazon, really good price...about £16 i think for 16GB.

Not impressed with RAM mount tho, faby quality but maybe too stiff?? It transmitted a LOT of vibes to camera making it unwatchable. Might try suction mount next time.....although maybe a big factor was clamping it to the crash bungs aside the engine.....perhaps a frame or bar mount would be better but i want to avoid fwd facing shots which incriminate my mates

In other news, the mounts on the case for the GoPro have broken on their FIRST use!! It was done up tight on the bike, although it still rotated in its mount so doing em up looser doesnt seem to be an option or the camera will move. Trouble is now ive got broken mounts it means i could
Lose the camer on the road at any given moment. Big fail imo.!!

Was it a non gopro mount you were using when you broke your mount tabs?
If it still moved sounds as though the tolerances were out and by tightening it right up forced the camera tabs over causing them to crack.

The gopro mounts are nice and tight so don't need excessive force to keep the camera from moving. Buy the proper ones next time.
