I mounted it on the tank with the suction cup mount and it worked great.

Trackday junkie:

Do you have footage from the roll bar mount?

I played around with my gopro and found that the suction cup works great on top of the tank and mounted on the tank panels. I also put one of the quick release snaps down by the battery box.

Really want one of these, I have a small digital camera that shoots good video. Cannot figure out how to securely mount it tho.
If you are going to YouTube you may want to think twice about having the speedometer showing when riding on the street.
You might accidentally go a bit over the speed limit and incriminate yourself.

I prefer the bar mo9unt due to it being secure. I have the suction mount and have used it and I'm believe it to be relatively secure but also add a teather to be certain I won't loose it.

OK, I got an HD for Christmas.
I'm going to use it on the SV 650 trackbike mainly but I want to mount it on the Superduke too.
I've got a bar mount and suction too, how did you mount that rear mount facing forward, thats a damn neat view ?
I've got a Evotech Tailtidy on mine too.

I picked up a nice SV to keep from binning the SD and fooking it up

Just want to put this out there for others.

I had mine mounted via the rollbarmount on the front forks and one of the pieces just clean sheared off the other day when I was out for a ride. It ruined the housing and scratched the lens. So I'll have to look into getting that replaced. Will be sending an e-mail to GoPro and see if there is any reason why it would have sheared like it did as thats a lot of money to lose on a ride!

did part of the bracket crack under stress? I'm uber skeptical of the plastic they use for the mounts...seems too flimsy.

Good luck w/ running this by GoPro! I had lost my original rubber clip fastener, emailed them (as the part isn't sold sep), and the fellow mailed me 4 of them for FREE...awesome customer service IMO

I have one, and I put one of the stick-on mounts on the gas tank, just in front of the gas cap, to the left of center. Video looked good, but I had to use a piece of paper jammed between the mount & the quick release to stop the camera from rattling. Here's a link to a vid on my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1181557543

To stop the clicking between the mount and quick release simply apply a piece of electrical tape down the center of the mount. Wa-la no more clicking. Works great with the little do-hiky.

Here's a rear view. Worked great to get footage of my buddy who was also supposed to be getting me at the same time. Unfortunately his camera failed. I wouldn't recommend this on a busy trackday, but it was empty that day so staying together wasn't dangerous.

On a side note, this is also a good tool to use for improving. A year later and things are very different on the track. No more gooning around trying to drag a knee, now I try NOT to do it.

This is one of my Vids from my practice laps, this was at the end of a 5 hour practice.

I have been very happy with the quality of the Go Pro HD, the plastic clips break but I recomend inspecting them before and after every ride for small cracks or stress points. They get old and only have a few rides in them so keep that in mind. The case holds up very well, I have landed on my case and it is still in great shape other than a few small scrars.

Re: the rattling. I realised that the adhesive mounts are pre-curved and if you adhere them to a purely flat surface, you get the gaps which allow the rattles. I'll have to try the e-tape method

Ok, while everyone is spruiking their gopro videos, Im reposting mine.. ... ...

Used the chesty mount, helmet mounts, and suction cap mount in various locations. My only complaint with the suction mount is that it has a little bit of movement in it at the base, and can make the footage wobble a bit. Still cool tho
Just ordered the LCD kit and a couple more mounts with a seatpost mount. Heading to Japan to ski in a couple weeks, cant wait to use it there!!

I find that the suction mount on the tank works great, if you want to see the clocks especially. I've mounted mine on my helmet, but I find my head moves too much while I'm riding so the footage is not great. The suction mount also works well on the side panels and I recently attached it to the battery 'fairing' although ended up scraping the mount on the road so now one of handles looks like my knee slider!

Here are a couple of shots I extracted from a clip with the camera mounted on the battery fairing.

I also tried a bar mount which works very well - more pics to follow . . .

I ran it on my helmet using the suction cup this past weekend at Jennings GP, FL. Very stable and it was nice being able to see where I was looking. I did however know it was there with the wind drag but max speed on that track was maybe 150mph so not too extreme.

Thanks for the comments - I was lucky that the light was just right that morning although I mounted the camera at the wrong angle really. I'll be playing around with it more soon!

Just purely out of interest, what settings is everybody running on the GoPro HD?

Hull 1080 or 720? NTSC or PAL?

I keep the gopro in 720 at 30fps.
60fps gets a weird feel too it, seems like things go faster than they are. But good for slow motion!

I dont use 1080, I keep it in 720 because that's fine and I save some space. I use it for holidays and I use a 32GB card and dont carry any spares!
Every body is impressed with the quality

Where have you guys mounted your gopro's?

I want to mount one behind me so I can see my body position but it looks like the only place to stick one is on the tail light I don't want the weight to snap the tabs on the light.
