So whats everyone using for cutting/editing ect

Im using a vista based laptop so any recommendations would be good
The new iMovie is just fooking awesome or Final Cut Express for a even more fully featured app. Final Cut Pro is over the top IMO for what 95% of users need. You can cut full movies on it on it ffs lol. In fact here is the list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Cut_ ... al_Cut_Pro

Oh you didn't mean on a Mac? Ok then there is Adobe Premiere Pro but that is Adobe's answer to Final Cut Pro, just not quite as good. (I do have a copy if you want to try) Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum is also a fully featured app )also have a copy ) Then it's down to apps like Camtasia Studio (have a copy) and then Microsoft Live Movie maker (free) which is ok but not even in the same league as iMovie 11. Ronin put together that Green Laning vid on iMovie. Hopefully we will see his latest creation from Enduroland today in a few days time. Once my Mac is replaced by the insurance I will start having a play as well. Enduroland was foooking awesome by the way.
I'm using Camtasia studio courtesy of Craig,it run's ok on my steam powered Acer laptop. It's very easy to use but wont sadly reproduce anything to match Ronin's creations,i really would'nt know what music to add to a video anyway.
I've got most of Abba's hit single's but which one to use would be a mystery to me barring Motoronin's Spanish off where "Dancing Queen" would be appropriate
This is a question I was going to ask but, having read it I'm still not clear.
What's a good basic package for Wintel machines?
I'd like to be able to cut and splice scenes, overlay text, add, replace and merge music to original sound recording and post on youtube.
What's recommended?
For a very basic editing package with no fancy frills then download mpeg streamclip you can chop out the bits you want for uploading on youtube as simple as simple can be.

I was fortunate enough to have a mac and PC and so I have to give another thumbs up to imovie, a great package to be bundled in with the OS, I still use streamclip though, streamclip loads up a 20minute HD video in seconds whereas imovie takes forever so I open up streamclip to chop out the section I'm interested in and then save it and load it up into imovie to save time.
i used sony vegas to make up a decent vid. Seemed easy enough
man i've got powerdirector and vegas pro but i'm so retarded w/ vegas that it takes me way longer to get what i want...know any good tutorials???
i need to level up

I wish there was something simpler than windows movie maker. It wouldn't matter. I'd still find a way to f it up.
...doubt I'll ever catch up to technology. When I started watching view screens they had tubes behind 'em that glowed and took around 20 seconds to warm up!
Hell, took me 6 months to figure out Howdy Doody had strings attached!

i have hundreds of super twisty kilometers available starting within 10km from me... all paved so not jealous of that... although i wish i was that confident on the sd on the dirt
Wake me when the funeral video is over as watching flies nests on cowshit is more visually appealling than that mundane video you posted!

May god have mercy on your soul as you stole 5 minutes of my life wasted on that abomination of a midday movie that you called a video.

If you own a Superduke you should be on the back wheel 90% of the ride and your knee should be on the deck the other 10%

Even the Taliban wouldn't delete your video as it may offend their dead entity who sleeps the sleep of a thousand deaths. Unless you improve your riding 5000000% please don't waste our time with your feeble attempts at home videos even your granny wouldn't show to her bowls club on show and tell day

If you post another video like that "I'll be back" (insert Arnold voice here)
