good skills fella's! just take your time to learn it before giving it some stick, can be coolant on the track just when you dont need it I speak from experience! however it is the best place to take a motorcycle I've ever been and very addictive...back there in June as the start of my europe tour with the wife on her R1!!! I cant wait

I took the fireblade around in 2007 but i was following a guy who used to be an instructor there.

Also it was an open day /evening on a bank hol weekend.

We were cracking on but I was using him as pacemaker and just hanging on. Couldnt have gone nearly as fast on my own as too many blind entries.

In 2009 I would love to do a closed day. My understanding is that they only close for German Moteradd courses and the only brit instructor left is Neil Leigh? I believe he runs a b&b in the Ardenne but have tried to e mail him without success this year.

If anyone has any plans to go there in 2009 let me know when and I will try to make it.

any body want to try the nurburgring out and make a trip of it try this guy hes brilliant to go with everything sorted for you and he takes you on some of the best roads i have ever been on. 12 of us went with him in 07 and 08.
Did something similar in Aug 2007. Trouble was we spent too much time doing roads. They were fantastic roads but it all ended in tears when one of our guys highsided going up the vispital (ignore spelling if wrong) and ended up in Koblenz hospital. To be fair it could have been any of us as we were all pushing too hard and had each had scary moments.

Then the ring was an open day, so cars everywhere

Cant wait to go again but I would love to get on a closed circuit training course and start to learn it properly.

I 'do' the Ring a few times a year on the 10R and love the place. Usually take in the scenic route there and back to make the most of freedom from home! Will post a message here next time I'm off; probably May/June when the weather might be bearable.

What's the Isle-of-Man like then for just road riding? Can it beat France/Luxembourg for scenery/awesome D-roads? Never been there so know nuffin about it from a bikers perspective.

i agree the TT week is great, the roads are not great apart from the mountain section when its shut off so its one way traffic and trust me its nip the bum up time, if you have never done mad Sunday then its something else i would never do it again This year 5 or 6 deaths and countless bad accidents the plase is full of LOONS but the nitelife is great if i do it again it will be in a car.
The Ring is wonderful, but dangerous. Killed the K1200R off there last trip. Did 4 trips last year. We're going for the traditional Easter w/e this year, but we won't get Jahresausweis (season tickets) this year.
Ratemut's right too, 8:30 BTG +-10s used to be quite the norm on the K-R, but I have no idea what I'll do next year, new bike, my mind is freshly crashed, etc... better just go for the company and the food n' beer.
