I know this will get people upset....if it does dont comment.

will it fit? anyone have any measurments of a gsxr engine?
i've per sonly never measured either engine, but i can't see how it would fit without a huge amount of work as neither engines is any where close to each other.
yea it would be alot of work to make brackets but it would be sweet....gsxr power with the great riding stance and position of the superduke frame.
Can't imagine it would be well balanced with a completely different engine configuration - more front end weight, not to mention the width.
Inline 4 in to a Vtwin frame, is that even possible?

Not like I know anything about building bikes, but seems like an impossible jigsaw to me?
could always street fighter an SL1000?!
Cut and weld, anything is possible, but the sum will be less than the parts in this case. Much better idea would to leave the GSXR engine in the frame designed for it and build a streetfighter with it. Use the R1 for inspiration...

or better yet

just substitute SD in place of adventure/SE
wow thats sweet. i know a guy that put a 1000 engine in a raptor four wheeler. i know he could do it but it does seem like too much work. just a dream i guess.
Have you ever seen the two bikes? lol

Sit on both and your (dumb) question will be answered
the frame would have to be cut but it would fit.....dumb? no. it would be cool as hell. you dont have to agree would it would be awesome
I think it would be better to try to put a RC8 Engine in a duke now that would be bad ass.I think it would be hard but not as bad as a i-4.
I have both and have looked at the possibly. It's close The RC8 is just a punched out 990 more or less. The electronics would be a nightmare.
Ktm Is going to do this soon a 1200 duke is in the works. I can't wait I would sell both just to have one of those.
rc8 engine was my first choice but they are too hard to find. the gsxr engines are so easy to get with the harness and ecu. that 1200 sounds like a beast. i thought the 990 would be enough but im still looking for more, has power but im not easy to satisfy.
Don't know any details but in Europe at least I'm almost certain we'll be seeing a new "Superduke" for 2013.
you're an idiot.
you ask what people think then ask them to leave cause they crap on your (stupid) idea!
the rc8 is a ktm engine, basically the same cases as a sd so of course it looks like it will fit, DERR! It's only one cylinder wide too by the way, the GSXR, which is an inline engine is four, albeit smaller, cylinders wide. add to that the sprocket will be maybe 6 inches outside the swing arm!
maybe you can turn it sideways and weld it in? yeah! that would work a treat! then, put a bmw diff in it and run that off the front wheel with a few universal joints, that way you don't need to worry about the sprocket issue at all, woo hoo! a front wheel drive, orange frankenbike! fook yeah! i'm psyched now, can i help you build it?
I think this post is a wind up anyway

worked on some though

I avoided this thread because it didn't interest me AT ALL.
Seems like the dumbest idea you could come up with concerning the SD.

I only checked the thread today because it keeps popping up in "new posts".

Trying to control the flow on the forum and that aggressive tone..?
Not even close to the spirit of this forum.
Shame on you.

Please just go away.

Maybe you can get a motor for the swap by teaming up with SDeric? He has bound to have scammed someone in the GSXR forum.
