My friends just got some reinforcement to their KTM predjudice
Went on a 600k twisty ride in the mountains yesterday. I had to turn around at the 250k mark when the graphite header gasket started to come apart on my SDR. It was replaced under warranty at 8000k's and it now went bad again at 17000k's.
Just finished replacing it today. Only took 30 minutes.
I want to love my bike but it always seems to be something going on. Most nicer riding here in Japan means a lot of miles to get to the good roads. Annoying that I cannot trust my bike that I spend more time and money taking care of than any bike I owned before.
You need a Japanese bike!!

is what mine, or lack of, looked like after 7000 miles!

Plus mine should have taken 30min......
Surely not reason enough to cut short a ride. The gasket is cheap and take a little time to replace so dont see the big deal. Gives you a chance to clean up the pipes while there off.
Get a full system on it, go for stainless headers, problem solved, no more Mickey Mouse exhaust seals
Is that gasket only fitted to the SDR with the Akra headers or does the SD has them as well?
