Heated Gear - Gerbing or Tourmaster

i'm thinking seriously about a heated vest . I know some adventure riders who do serious riding and tell me the vest is enough to keep warm.

I can't seem to find any warranty info on the tourmaster vests. Reviews on tourmaster is they're damn warm .

Gerbing seems to have a lifetime warranty on the elements/wiring in the vest - cost more $ and i believe ya need to buy the control unit extra ( closer to 200$ total ) compare to 120 for tourmaster.

Anyone have anything to add on this before i lay down the funds.

I use the Gerbing Jacket, not a vest. If you have the room under your riding jacket I would go with the full heated jacket. I bought a vest years ago and fits under my leather jacket, but it does not work as well as the electric jacket. I mounted the variable heat conrtoller on the bike so I just have one plug to contend with. I went for a 100 mile ride last Friday and the heated jacket made the ride that much longer and enjoyable. Have to confess, it was on the Tiger and not the SD. SD tyres are gone..and that heated collar around the neck......priceless. Another thing to keep you riding and warm is to wear a lofty type of jacket over the heated jacket. That creates a air gap of insulation.
