Help Needed - 02 RSVR to Superduke...

Have been thinking about changing the RSVR for some time now, and after a day out on her yesterday, i have now decided to sell it and look at buying something else.

I don't want the Tuono, as i have that near enough now.

Has anyone gone from a V Twin sports to the SD? Pro's & Con's?

Also being new to the KTM thing, whats the major differences between the SM and SD? Is it just style or are the SM's still a pain in the ass servicing wise?

Will be going to a KTM dealer this week to have a look at a few models, and see what deals can be done.

So if anyone wants to part ex with an RSVR, let me know!!

Otherwise any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

*cards behind the bar, if thats still the done thing for newbies?*

The RSVR is awesome, no other words describe, but with the K-Tec set up ohlins, the slipper clutch and radial brakes, its just begging to go faster and faster.

And i am getting older and older, and i just dont want to go that fast anymore.
(I know its me in control, but it think its just a matter of time..)

I have had a few Sm's in the past (KTM 625 and a Husky)

I loved the SM, but not the services and pain in the ass mileage.

So think either SM or SD is the way to go.

Also people are moaning about tank range? What sort of mileage are we looking at..(i have had an SP1, so am not fusses about massive range!!)

I want to tight twisties to be smiling, and not the flat out big curves.

All my mileage is fun miles, so thats what im hoping for.
E-Man, WELCOME TO THE GREAT PLACE!

the few, the proud, the SD'ers. for you the SDR, or if yer old as me the SMR?

your read is a good candidate for any of these, you will not be disappointed, joe assures you of this.
Thanks for your input on this... hard decision to make...

I am just reading up on the SM and the SD.

SM does seem like more fun based, but not been able to find any direct comparison between the 2.

I want something that will do 300+ miles a day of twisties.

I don't use it for work, it is merely a toy!!!

I will go to the dealers tomorrow and get a look at both models and decide from there.

I just know the RSVR is no longer for me....

Everything seems to be turning orange (or black, or even white)!!!!!

Weirdest thing happened today.. I think it is meant to be!!

On our way to The KTM Centre in Hemel, sitting in traffic on the M10, a black KTM was filtering through the traffic behind us, i waved the rider down and asked him what he thought of the Superduke he was on..

"F****** Amazing" he said... and then told me to get down to the KTM Centre and take one out for a ride... He just happened to be Jason, one of the guys from the shop...*spooky how these things happen*

So have booked in for a days riding on Thursday, taking the SM out in the morning and then the SD out for the afternoon.

To say i'm looking forward to it, is to be putting it mildly!!!!
