Help TuneECU

Removed Secondary Flies, tried to switch off warning light using TuneEcu and Raise Rev Limiter....raised the rev limiter realised that I had not switched off Secondaries so went back in for another go.......Rev counter,and indicators and brake lights not working L1 light still on (and fuel warning....full tank )

Went back in for another go.......software will not see ECU tried 20 times no good freezze and crashes (tried 1.94 and 1.85)


Anybody with any ideas ...Should say still have power commander111 connected... just had new map and Track day on tuesday so waiting to strip out till after trackay....Help

First of all tuneecu does not switch off warning lights!!!
What it does is switching off the functioning of lets say the seconday butterflies if you untick the box. Same for O2 sensors and the SAS, the sensors or a replacing resistor still needs to be in place to avoid the fault light comming on.

In your case of the secondary flies you need to leave the little motor and sensor connected, just remove the shaft.

For all the other issues, you obviously disconnected other stuff that is either not plugged back in or wrongly plugged in. Check your wiring dude! This might be why Tuneecu can't connect neither.

I am also under the impression you use tuneecu wrongly. To make changes like rev limiter or turning things on and off you need to change that in your map in tuneecu and then upload the map back in to the ecu to make the changes there. You don't need to have the bike running for this so disconnection issues shouldn't be an issue.

It pays to read up before using this stuff as it can potentially make things go wrong big time.
PS: No need to go to a PCIII you only add more things that can go wrong.

When you loaded the zero map onto the pc3 is it possible that you could have inadvertently loosened some wires? If you want, send me your original base map and your pc3 map, tell me what you want turned off and I will put it together for you to load on... See if that works better? Obviously you turn all lights off when connecting up.

And above all else don't load a map while the bike is running.

Try with the laptop hooked up to power. And maybe try with antivirus and firewall to USB turned off. A few guys found that anything less than an almost full charge of the laptop resulted in connection issues. Also make sure that you power management plan is set for full performance and not battery life

Fully charge your laptop the Plug your laptop into mains power whilst using TuneECU!

With my 1 laptop it dissconects as soon as battery power is anything less than 100%

Just so you no! Secondary flies, shafts, motor and everything can be pulled! No resistor needed, just tick the box, upload map and no Fi light

Oh... And the IT response is did you try turning the computer off and back on again? Quite often this is all a computer requires to fix just about anything for abnormal operations

Now I think of it I up loaded (sucessfully) mrs new map on her 675 street triple 'R' with lap top pluged into mains as the battery was playing up had to use her mothers garage:D

So I sorted the battery and tried to do mine .....and had problems (no mains in Garage)

The only trouble is ....its pouring with rain...so Alfresco is out of the question

Still will not see ECU

Tried with PC on mains, Fire wall off, all spy software turned off, all power save turned off, PC111 disconnected (bike back running on ECU)

Rev counter not working, indicators not working, brake lights not working, Fuel indicating reserve (full tank)

On the bright side it goes like stink with new map

It Loaded up originally, but refuses to do so again ...any more idea's.........

Take it to a ktm dealer and tell them the clocks stopped working if u have warranty

Apart from the obvious of checking all the fuses - have you tried unplugging battery to reset the ecu !?

Else I think your going to have to trace where the power is going - indicators and brake light should work regardless of what the ecu is upto.
