Help with STM clutch install

Gday,

Does anyone who has installed an STM slipper clutch remember if they removed the disk that slides onto the clutch shaft between the outer basket and inner basket/hub when they replaced the inner basket/hub as part of the STM clutch install? disks part number is 60032021000n if you need to loo at the clutch microfiche. Instructions for installing the thing are clear just dont know what to remove prior to install.

I did mine some 2 years ago and im pretty sure it stayed in there!

I presume you have the STM diagram for installation?

Im in the garage later so il have a look in the bag and see what bits i took out!

I did mine the other day & the spacer disc remains between the inner & outer hub.



The only thing to watch out for is line the fingers up when tightening the inner nut up they can easily be broken off.

Have bolted it up and I get a hard lever. In the instructions it says to leave the two small rings out of the clutch pack I assume that means the spring waser rings not any of the clutch plates? Does anyone know why I would have a hard lever, did you have to drain the hydraulics before doing yours?

you've got a hard lever because it's not assembled correctly and it won't disengage on hydraulic pressure because something mechanical in the assembly is stopping it.
no need to re bleed the system, the hydraulics aren't your problem.

Hey Mate when I don't have the clutch in the thing the lever is still hard why would that be? Pretty sure I have it together properly unless it uses less plates but I don't think so.
