HM Quickshifter fitted.....Yeeeeehaaaaa!

Yesterday fitted an HMRacing strainguage quickshifter. What can I say except what a total laugh to ride Totally, totally brilliant fun Never tried one before. You can ride it like normal if you want, don't notice it's there. But then if you nail it and keep the throttle pinned you can just bang up through the gears and the changes are absolutely seamless and smooth. Awesome!
Also fitted the ASV levers, really nice kit.

The QS, does it just come in to action at the higher rpm, you can still use the clutch lever at lower rpm.

Can only imagine the white suit.

To be honest I'm not sure as it was fitted in the HMRacing workshop and I was chatting at the sales counter when the actual wiring was done. But I did end up rewiring the whole thing once I got home to hide some of the visible wiring and generally tidy it all up - also so hide the control box under the seat rather than have it exposed.

I remember that that there was one wire that comes down to the quickshifter, (obviously), and one earth lead that came down to mount onto the engine low down for a good earth connection - I'm pretty sure that they recommend not to use the upper part, valve covers etc. But I don't remember any wire coming from the battery. Can't be sure though. It seemed to me that the whole unit was plugged directly into the wiring loom at the top of the engine and went directly to the spark plugs.

There are two versions of the HMQuickshifter though - one that plugs into the PC111 and the one like mine that goes direct to the plugs and cuts the spark.

all i can say is wow... definately a yeeehaaa! as the qs thing is crazy... love it...

although i have my kill setting at 65 not the initial 60... might try it although it seems to work well

what is your thoughts guys (obviously those who use one).

btw, pete i had the same problem as you and was sent two right hand threads and had to do the same thing as you an butcher the old shift rod (was too impatient).

oh well another part to order.

Hello all. Does the HM Quickshifter also work for shifting down through the gears? Or should the clutch be pulled in when shifting down?
