Didn't even have to be put on a waiting list. Called all the dealer in California and got lucky. Found a dealer that just received two of them. And surprisingly, no one had claimed yet. One orange and one black. Picked it up the next day. And that day was yesterday. The Black one was still there when I left. But most likely all ready claimed.

UPDATE ---
Rode one today at my dealers - its better than I had imagined - obviously has the power when you want it but its docile and smooth on the street setting -
I am very favorably impressed - now I need to think about how much I really want it -

I love my 690 DUKE 4 (abs) but would also love to own this as my touring bike.

I'd like to ask you US guys a few questions about your new 1290's

I had a 990 for years but it got totaled a couple of years ago when I hit a deer -

I now own a new 690 Duke w ABS and the full race kit which I really lke =

However, the 1290 looks and all just pull at me - I have a chance to buy a new orange out the door at 15,350. -

First off - how do you honestly like the bike? What is it about it that you DON"T like?

Issues with the bike and anything else you'd like to add

Thanks

Steve

Black one in SW North Carolina
Subtract one 1290 from the Buffalo area. Guy looped it and it's likely to be totaled because none of the damaged cosmetic parts are available.
Atlanta, GA. Black Superduke. Soon to be in Fayetteville, NC..yeaaa

Had a 690 as a courtesy bike for a week , loved it for the first few days , then I'd had enough , good fun bike but not a keeper IMHO
