Oooh I likey this poll!!!

130-140hp - remember, I lose 17% power at my altitude, compared to sea level, so this will feel the same as what most guys ALREADY get...

I said 130hp purely for the fact that I'd like some reliability with my bike, and think 150 would be too much for this size v-twin motor (not too much for me hear). If I wanna go slower, I just don't twist the throttle so far!
Straightforward - I want the wind to be my limit, not the engine.

*edit* - Another great post from Weeksy!!!
Standard is ok for me, when i had a GSXR i always wanted to use the power on the road which would get me into trouble.
The reason i bought the SD was to enjoy the bike more on the road without getting upto silly speeds.
If i did more track days i would get a sports bike.

I'll take a few more ponies, as long as it is not at the expense of more weight. Having the thing be so light is part of what makes it as fun as it is.

The SD is outrageous in many ways, first by who they attract to ride them, It is like a wild horse, you know it is full of trouble just waiting for the throttle to roll.

It definitely is an attribute for a novice or intermediate rider to throw a leg over her, (in lieu of the lethargic HP's).

but you take a pro or a long seasoned power munger like me, the SD and joe are 2 peas in a pod just the way she is at full throttle,

but with another 25 RWBHP sweet spot being 144-147 @ tyre, and torques to match would be a must,(even more need for the SD vs SDR geometry).

........ to only want a little more, just a wee bit more. If you asked me with a smile on yer face....

hey joe you want 25 hp more for $100 per HP, only answer is yes. even at twice the price it would equal piles of smiles for me.

I do not care about trinkets for the bike, like stuff to bolt onto it, it is naked for a reason and I like it like that, but more power must come.

the reason i like 1st gear wheelies rather than 2nd is cos of speed, always expect the unexpected. (on the road mind).
My S4Rs has close to 136 rwhp and I've always thought that it's more than enough for a naked bike. My old desmoquattro S4R may have been a bit more suitable for the street. Still waiting on those Akra cans for my SDR though...damn it's been a tough wait.
I think the SDR is powerful enough. I bought the bike because it has less than the 171 RWHP my zx10r has. If you start adding that much power then you will have some short comings somewhere else. In the really tight twisty roads 130 is more than enough. My SMC has less than 60 and I pass GSXR's in the mountains all the time.
115 - standard??
I wish... I have an '07 SD with full Akras, DNA & PC III with custom map. The dyno says 111 hp at the rear wheel. (and about 75 ft. lbs. of torque)
I love this bike, but I would like about 20-30 more.
That being said, it's still the best bike I've owned in over 30 years of riding.

If we're imagining things, I'd leave the engine alone & lighten the bike by 75+lbs.
Power-to-weight and all.

If it were.......
The best weight loss can be had in swapping the stock exhaust cans for CF or titanium cans - there's 20+ lbs right there. After that, the price goes up, like CF wheels, rotors, not really cost effective, but cool nonetheless.

$2k a pair
