How much open airbox pulls?

Hi everybody!

I'm quite disappointed with my recently buyed 08SDR... My brother gots my old 07SD and two weeks ago went to Albacete Track to test my new bike against my previus one SD.

Both bikes got 40T rear sprocket, both bikes have around 15K kms (service just passed for the two bikes , both bikes have Carbon Leos exhaust no db killer, both with STD KTM Akra map and SAS off...i think bikes are just same config, excep the Air filters, my old 07SD has a awesome Motohooligan airbox, with his flies an my 08SDR has a BMC filter with stock airbox....



The truth is that they were pulling the same in the track, no diferences in acelerarion in the exits of the corners and in the main straight... So i just buyed a ITG JC30/65 to see if an open airbox improves the power.

To be honest i weight 10kg more than my bro, but its supposed than the 08SDR vs 07SD will have more than 10hp by stock?

The stock airbox is hugely restrictive.
Fitting end cans (which you have done) and removing the airbox and replacing with DNA, Motohooligan or Rottweiler then setting up with Tune ECU are the biggest changes you can make IMO.

Have you tried to swap bikes with your brother? 10kg. is a huuuuge watermelon!!

Fit an aftermarket airbox and get it tuned! The getting it tuned is an important part of the deal though.
